REQUEST TO CONSIDER H.R. 962, BORN-ALIVE ABORTION SURVIVORS PROTECTION ACT2019-04-03
Mr. FULCHER
Mr. FULCHER. Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent that the Committee on the Judiciary be discharged from further consideration of H.R. 962, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, and I ask for its immediate consideration in the House.
Mr. FULCHER. Mr. Speaker, if this unanimous consent request cannot be entertained, I urge that the Speaker and the majority leader immediately schedule the born-alive bill so that we can stand up for the sanctity of human life.
THE GREEN NEW DEAL2019-02-25
Mr. FULCHER
Mr. FULCHER. Mr. Speaker, my Democratic colleagues have made public the details of the so-called Green New Deal. Among other things, if implemented over the next 10 years, it would eliminate the use of fossil fuels and nuclear power. That means our gasoline-powered vehicles and implements would be useless, and there would be no air travel. It would also require that virtually all building structures would be rebuilt or need to be remodeled. Every facet of life would be forced to change. The most frightening thing about this is that my colleagues sponsoring it are actually serious. Furthermore, the architects failed to explain how they are going to rebuild the economy they would decimate. Mr. Speaker, I would suggest the architects of this legislation change the color of the Green New Deal and call it the Red--as in stop sign red--New Disaster.
HONORING SANCTITY OF LIFE2019-01-17
Mr. FULCHER
Mr. FULCHER. Madam Speaker, I am often asked why I came to Congress, and I have asked myself that very same question. It is certainly not for the money, and it is not for the notoriety or the scrutiny that comes with that. Ultimately, for me, it comes down to the honorable purpose of supporting the divinely inspired principles behind our Nation's founding, being a voice for those unavailable or unable to speak. There is none more vulnerable or unable to speak than the unborn, and there is no more noble cause than protecting or promoting life. Madam Speaker, I stand today, during this week honoring the sanctity of life, to ask every Member of this body to use any and all influence to return to our Nation's legal environment that promotes life and to return to a cultural environment that promotes life as well. Our unborn would ask the same, if they could.
