Mr. LEVIN

Mr. LEVIN. I move to reconsider the vote.

Mr. LEVIN. We have no objection.

Mr. LEVIN. I move to reconsider the vote.

Mr. LEVIN. The amendment has been agreed to on both sides.

Mr. LEVIN. Mr. President, on behalf of Senators Kerry and Kennedy, I offer an amendment which would authorize transportation of dependents to the presence of members of the Armed Forces who are retired for illness or injury as a result of active duty.

Mr. LEVIN. I move to lay that motion on the table. The motion to lay on the table was agreed to. Amendment No. 828

Mr. LEVIN. We are almost there, Mr. President, but not quite.

Mr. LEVIN

Mr. LEVIN. It would be about 2:30 or quarter to 3. Would the Senator from Iowa be able to do it in that time period?

Mr. LEVIN. I move to lay that motion on the table. The motion to lay on the table was agreed to.

Mr. LEVIN. Mr. President, let us try to obtain a copy of that amendment, if I could ask the Senator from Nevada.

Mr. LEVIN. Do you expect they would be ready tonight if we are here for an additional half hour?

Mr. LEVIN. Would the Senator yield?

Mr. LEVIN. Any second-degree amendment.

Mr. LEVIN. I am wondering whether we will have the language of those amendments or amendment this evening?

Mr. LEVIN. Would the Senator yield? Who has the floor?

Mr. LEVIN. I join in the commendation to the Senator of Delaware for his tenacity in keeping airlift available.

Mr. LEVIN. Mr. President, will the Senator yield?

Mr. LEVIN. I thank the Chair.

Mr. LEVIN. Mr. President, if this amendment is presented at this time to the Parliamentarian, will we obtain a ruling as to whether or not it is relevant? Is there any reason why the request of the Parliamentarian, relative to this amendment as to whether or not it is relevant, cannot be responded to by the Parliamentarian at this time or at any time?

Mr. LEVIN. Mr. President, will the Senator yield? Do we have a list of all of the amendments on the Republican side?

Mr. LEVIN. I move to lay that motion on the table. The motion to lay on the table was agreed to.

Mr. LEVIN. The chairman is correct. This issue was not brought to my attention until the floor. But there are a number of issues which are brought to our attention for the first time on the floor. I hope any of us can support those issues when they are brought to the floor. We ought to all feel free to do that.

Mr. LEVIN. Well, I certainly am not committed to the bill as written because there are a number of provisions in the bill that I opposed in committee and that I have opposed on the floor.

Mr. LEVIN. And the opposition?
