CONCURRENT BUDGET RESOLUTION ON THE BUDGET, FISCAL YEAR 20142013-03-22
Mrs. MURRAY
Mrs. MURRAY. Madam President, I suggest the absence of a quorum.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, this actually is a commonsense approach, and I do urge my colleagues to support this amendment. I will be happy to accept it on a voice vote.
Mrs. MURRAY. Madam President, hearing no opposition, I suggest we voice vote this amendment.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I move to reconsider the vote.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I can keep on standing all night. I am sure a number of Senators can. I do have respect for a number of our Senators here who may not be able to stand as long as some of us or who are elderly, and I would ask consideration of them. That is just my request. With that, I do think we need to get to a vote here.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, the next amendment is offered by Senator Graham, amendment No. 329.
Mrs. MURRAY. I yield 1 minute to the Senator from Rhode Island.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I move to reconsider the vote.
Mrs. MURRAY. Without objection, we will move to a voice vote on this amendment.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I yield my time to the Senator from South Dakota.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I move to reconsider the vote.
Mrs. MURRAY. Madam President, I move to reconsider the vote, and I move to lay that motion on the table. The motion to lay on the table was agreed to. Amendment No. 535
Mrs. MURRAY. Madam President, I believe the pending amendment is Coats amendment No. 514.
Mrs. MURRAY. I have another group of amendments for which I will ask unanimous consent. I ask unanimous consent the next amendments in order to be called up will be the following: Flake amendment No. 225, Graham amendment No. 329, Heller amendment No. 293, Boozman amendment No. 527, Portman amendment No. 153, and Ayotte amendment No. 136; that there be no second-degree amendments in order prior to the votes in relation to any of these amendments, but notwithstanding all time having expired on the resolution, there be 2 minutes equally divided prior to each vote, and that all votes be 10-minute votes; that upon the disposition of Ayotte amendment No. 136, the next amendment be an amendment from the majority. I ask the amendments be called up en bloc.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I believe that the voice vote was a ``yes'' vote. I would ask my colleagues if we can redo the vote so we can hear it.
Mrs. MURRAY. Madam President, I believe we can take this by a voice vote.
Mrs. MURRAY. I move to reconsider the vote and lay that motion on the table. The motion to reconsider was agreed to. Amendment No. 482
Mrs. MURRAY. I ask for a voice vote on the Sanders amendment.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I move to reconsider the vote and lay that motion on the table. The motion to lay on the table was agreed to. Amendment No. 697
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I yield my time to the Senator from New Jersey, the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I strongly oppose this amendment. Repealing this budget's revenue increase and striking reconciliation would be irresponsible. Our budget would not raise taxes on veterans. I yield back the remainder of my time to the Senator from Vermont.
Mrs. MURRAY. I yield to the Senator from Oregon.
Mrs. MURRAY. Madam President, has all time been used on our side?
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I yield my time to the Senator from California.
Mrs. MURRAY. Mr. President, I move to reconsider the vote.
